How to use whatsapp from your computer

Tired of only being able to access your WhatsApp conversations on your phone? Start using WhatsApp Web. Earlier this year, Facebook-owned WhatsApp announced WhatsApp Web .
The new service makes it possible for a user to link a website accessible only through Google's
Chrome browser to his or her WhatsApp account.
In doing so, WhatsApp conversations will sync
between the mobile device and desktop. As long as you're signed in, your conversations will sync --
even when you're away from the computer, or on a cellular connection (as opposed to the same Wi-Fi
network as your computer).
The process for linking your WhatsApp account to your computer is streamlined, and easy enough for Grandma to follow. First, download Chrome if you
don't already have it installed on your computer.
Next, download  whatsapp for PC  in Chrome.
Follow the instructions to pull up the WhatsApp Web QR code scanner on your mobile device.
The method for launching this section of the app is different based on the platform you're using, but directions are listed just under the QR code. Scan
the QR code and watch as your conversations magically appear in your browser. iOS users will
notice directions to connect your iPhone are missing from the list
of supported devices. WhatsApp says the reason is due to "Apple platform limitations." The layout of WhatsApp Web should mirror the mobile experience, just on a larger scale. You can still
send emoji, photos, voice notes, view your contact list and so forth. To receive alerts of incoming messages on your computer, click on Allow (top-
right corner of Chrome) when prompted. You'll need to approve access to other aspects of your
computer in a similar fashion as you attempt to send photos or record voice memos. Going
forward, anyone who has access to your computer will be able to pull up your WhatsApp
conversations as long as you remain logged in.
If your computer is password protected, that's probably not a big deal. But when using WhatsApp Web from a public computer, you'll want to sign
out when you're finished. You can do that by clicking on the three-dot menu icon and selecting
Log out.

Have you used WhatsApp Web yet? If so, what are
your thoughts?

Don't talk in front of your Smart TV, it might be listening.

Samsung is warning its customers not to talk
about personal information in front of their smart
TV, as the device may be “listening” to the
conversation.
Samsung’s privacy statement dealing with the
voice recognition functions of its TVs states that
voice commands may be transmitted to a third
party service that converts and captures the
speech.
“Please be aware that if your spoken words
include personal or other sensitive information,
that information will be among the data captured
and transmitted to a third party through your use
of Voice Recognition,” said Samsung.
The warning about the TVs’ ability to capture data
through voice commands is being compared to the
discription of telescreens in George Orwell’s
dystopian novel 1984, where all citizens’ actions
are monitored through the device.
Online news magazine the Daily Beast reported
that intellectual property lawyer for the Electronic
Frontier Foundation Corynne McSherry said the
“third party” was probably a company providing
speech-to-text conversion for Samsung.
“If I were the customer, I might like to know who
that third party was, and I’d definitely like to know
whether my words were being transmitted in a
secure form,” she said.
Samsung responded to the criticism, and
according to BBC News said the privacy statement
was its attempt to be transparent with TV owners.
“If a consumer consents and uses the voice
recognition feature, voice data is provided to a
third party during a requested voice command
search. At that time, the voice data is sent to a
server, which searches for the requested content
then returns the desired content to the TV.”
Samsung said it did not retain voice data or sell
the audio being captured, and did not name the
third party involved.

Obasanjo to Jonathan: Be ready to face dire consequences of election shift.

On Saturday, former President Olusegun Obasanjo
warned President Goodluck Jonathan of the
possible dire consequences of delaying the
elections.
Obasanjo spoke to journalists at his Presidential Hilltop Estate, Abeokuta mansion in Ogun State. He opined on the state of the nation and gave his opinion on the elections postponement.
He drew parallels between President Jonathan and
the former Ivory Coast (Côte d’Ivoire) leader Laurent Gbagbo. Gbagbo, Obasanjo said, kept
shifting the election date in his country until he was sure of winning. When the elections came
resulted in a run-off, not only did he refuse to hand power over upon losing, but also “unleashed
chaos, confusion and crisis” on his people “until nemesis caught up with him.”
Obasanjo maintained President Jonathan should be careful of those prodding him on, because “when the heat begins, he [Jonathan] would be left naked
and isolated.” Obasanjo insisted that the elections dates shift was
informed by Jonathan’s fear of

Samsung set to buy blackberry

Samsung Offer To Buy Blackberry

Reuters claim that sources close to its media
agency say Samsung Electronics recently offered
to buy BlackBerry Ltd for as much as $7.5 billion,
seeking its valuable patents as it battles Apple in
the corporate market.

South Korea’s Samsung proposed an initial price
range of $13.35 to $15.49 per share, representing
a premium of 38 percent to 60 percent over
BlackBerry’s current trading price, the source said
on Wednesday

Representatives from the two companies, which are
working with advisers, met last week to discuss a
potential transaction, the source said, asking not to
be identified because the conversations are private.

Samsung and Blackberry are among the best
smartphones
that can be found in the mobile market.

Is charging your phone all night safe?

The poor electricity situation in Nigeria has made
many of us to always look for any available space
to charge our phones even when our phone
battery is full.

This is because one can never tell when the Power
Holding Company of Nigeria will strike, as their
incompetence is as glaring as their counterparts in
the police force.

Read also: Samsung, set to buy blackberry.

Nigerians now charge their phones everywhere!
Churches, mosques, markets, restaurants, hotels,
schools, you name it. While most ladies have their
handsets in their bags, the men tuck inside their
pockets, laptop bags, handy bags e.t.c
In fact, a phone charger is an average Nigerian
man/woman/youth most needed device at any
point in time, especially for those who use
smartphones that the batteries are easily drained.
Many of us plug our phones at night before going
to bed, with the hope that we’ll wake up to a fully
charged device.
But is it really safe to leave our phones plugged
into the charger once they’re fully charged? Is it
damaging the battery — or shortening its lifespan?

From what is always said, too much of everything is bad, I'd say, too much of charging too is bad. Someone might say, The best option might be to get a low class mobile phone and convert the smart phones to home phones but is that convenient?

British soul singer Sam Smith has won four

prestigious prizes for record and song of the year
and best new artist.

and Aphex Twin.
Madonna, Katy
Perry, Rihanna, Kanye West and Sir
Paul McCartney were among those performing at
the Los Angeles ceremony.
But the night belonged to Sam Smith, who has
cemented his place as one of pop's biggest stars
just nine months after the release of his debut
album In the Lonely Hour.
Earlier, he said: "Before I made this record, I was
doing everything to try to get my music heard... I
tried to lose weight and I was making awful music.
It was when I started to be myself that the music
flowed."
Smith's ballad Stay With Me won both song of the
year and record of the year - the former recognises
the songwriters, while the latter goes to the
performer and producer.
Accepting the record of the year trophy, he said: "I
want to thank the man who this record is about,
who I fell in love with last year.
"Thank you so much for breaking my heart
because you got me four Grammys."
Smith also performed his the song on stage with
Mary J Blige; while his other awards were best
new artist and best pop vocal album.
He lost out on the best album award to long-
serving indie troubadour Beck, who was honoured
for his twelfth studio LP, Morning Phase. It also
won best rock album.
"We made this record at my house for the most
part, so I would like to thank my kids for letting
me keep them awake a little bit longer," he said.

Joke of the day: PRESIDENCY EXPLAINS WHY ELECTION WAS POSTPONEDED.

There has been recent stories going on about the postponement of the election, immediately I shared it with my friends, the crazy one popped one in, saying, "the election was postponed so as to enable buhari finish school and get a certificate"
Hehehehehehe.

JEGA: WHY WE CAN'T HOLD THE ELECTIONS YET

The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral
Commission, Attahiru Jega, has concluded a
briefing meeting with 25 civil society groups in
Abuja Saturday informing them that all security
agencies in the country have indicated to him, in
writing, that they are not available to support the
elections planned for February 14 and 28.
Prof. Jega, who had an earlier meeting with political
parties, is rounding up another meeting with his 36
resident electoral commissioners now on what will
amount to an INEC position on whether to
postpone or go ahead with the elections.
Insiders at the meeting said “its pretty much a
done deal at this point that the elections will be
postponed” and many of the attendees told
Reporters  they were shell-shocked and
depressed at what they characterize as “a clear
case of political blackmail of the state against civil
society”.
Jibrin Ibrahim, a leading African election expert
and senior fellow at the Centre for Democracy and
Development, CDD, in Abuja, who was at the
meeting, said Mr. Jega told the meeting that
security operatives from all the agencies told INEC
that they were commencing a six weeks special
operations against Boko Haram insurgents in the
north eastern corridors of the country and would
rather not be distracted by the elections.
Mr. Jega announced that the security forces also
said the operations are due to commence on
February 14, the date INEC had planned for the
presidential and federal legislative elections.
This decision, by the security forces, successfully
renders INEC’s hitherto insistence to go ahead with
the elections a risky venture.
To even collect ballot papers from their storage in
the Central Bank of Nigeria for the elections will
require security escort, which apparently is now
unavailable in the light of the move by the security
forces.

Ebola again: 9 years old Nigeria girl quarantined for the disease.

Months after Nigeria recorded success in managing the deadly Ebola virus, fears over a new wave of epidemics occurred February 2, Monday.
A 9-year-old Nigerian girl with symptoms associated with Ebola, was admitted to the special Ebola quarantine unit at the Ernakulam General Hospital, India.
By the time of arriving at the Cochin International Airport on Monday, the child had already had cold, fever and breathlessness. Therefore she was immediately quarantined, Times of India reports.
Health official sat the airport confirmed the information saying that it was the first case of a passenger arriving at their airport from an Ebola-hit country with the dangerous signs of the disease.
The girl was travelling together with her both parents. The family arrived in an Emirates flight.

The airport authorities followed the quarantine procedures as prescribed by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and also placed the girl’s parents under observation.
It is worth noting that in case of Ebola, the incubation period, or the time interval from infection with the virus to onset of symptoms, corresponds from 2 to 21 days.
The 9-year-old’s blood sample was flown to the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) in New Delhi for testing.
It should be recalled that Nigeria was declared Ebola free by the WHO on October 20, after 20 cases had been recorded in the country, with eight of them – lethal.

President Jonathan plans to postpone election date as hope of victory eludes him.

THIRD PARTY SOURCES REVEAL.
In the face of dwindling prospects for his re-election bid, President Goodluck Jonathan has embarked on a renewed three-pronged approach to scuttle the presidential election scheduled for February 14, several sources within the Presidency have disclosed. In a startling disclosure, our sources said Mr. Jonathan was willing to entertain a military take-over as one of his options.
Over the last two weeks, it had dawned on Mr. Jonathan that his hopes for winning re-election had dimmed significantly. Our sources said the president was deeply distressed to find out that several governors of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had been working quietly with the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) to thwart his re-election. “Apart from Governor Godswill Akpabio of

7 aweful eating habit that you should drop now.

By CYNTHIA
In my one-on-one work with clients there is a dual focus: I help them adopt a healthy new eating regimen, but in order for new patterns to stick, we also have to zero in on unhealthy habits that tend to keep them stuck. If you've ever uttered the phrase, "I know what I need to do, but I just can't seem to do it!" my bet is lingering detrimental habits are the culprit.
Here are seven that come up often, and why breaking them may just be the final solution to achieving weight-loss results that last!
Drinking Too Often For most of my clients, drinking alcohol has a domino effect. After one drink, their inhibitions are lowered and their appetite spikes. That combo -- in addition to the extra calories in the cocktails themselves -- results in

Popular comedian, Ali BABA is not taking it lightly with some Nigerian politicians. See what he posted this morning.

Ali BABA the king of comedy is not acting funny this morning at all. Truly he is really vexed. Look at what he posted on his social media account this morning.

“I don’t understand some NIGERIANS at all these days. We all want good governance. So we go to the polls to elect someone who will give us good governance. Which of course is why they were voted in.

“But just in case, the person gets there, and forgets why we voted him into power, and he begins to enrich himself and swim in corruption, I pray the elected official will not see his ripe old age. He will die before his time.

“And if you are more concerned about the fact that I have prayed that whoever gets to an elected office and doesn’t deliver on election promises should die, then that tells me, that the reason you voted for him is for him to steal or make room for you to steal.

“I do not wish any of our leaders bad. But anyone of our leaders who get into office and decides to steal or aid corruption, he will experience bad things and will be carried out of office in a stretcher, DOA!

“So, if you are not wicked you should be praying for them to deliver on their campaign promises not praying they will remain after stealing our money. Any leader that steals money meant for the people, will end up terribly!

Senate approve keystone pipeline bill in the face of veto threat.

Senate to begin voting on Keystone oil pipeline measure
WASHINGTON –  The Senate passed legislation Thursday approving the Keystone XL oil pipeline, setting up a looming veto showdown with the White House.
The legislation passed on a 62-36 vote, after lawmakers spent weeks considering amendments. The House passed a similar bill earlier this month, though there are slight differences that have to be ironed out before the bill can go to President Obama's desk.
The vote nevertheless marked the first time the Senate has voted to approve the controversial Canada-to-Texas oil pipeline. Nine Democrats joined with 53 Republicans to back the measure.
“Constructing Keystone would pump billions into our economy,” Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., said before the vote.

Obama speaks about adopted chibok girls. Says Nigerian government has not done enough

President Obama was recently interviewed by YouTube stars, Bethany Mota, GloZell Green & Hank Green and one of the questions he was asked was about the missing Chibok girls and efforts by the US government to rescue them. What he said below...
"As people may or may not know, Boko haram is a radical, violent, terrible extremist organisation in Nigeria. It kidnapped 200 young women and there are in many cases still being held. What we tried to do is to help the Nigerian government deal with the problem. The Nigerian government has not been effective as it needs to be in not only finding the girls but also stopping these extremist organization from operating in their territory. What we have tried to do is to mobilize other countries to try to give the Nigerian government more resources, not just military equipment but also better intelligence. A lot of them to track where these folks are and try to stop them" he said

Pastor tries to walk on water and drowns.

Walking on water is not easy. Not too many people
have the ability. Let’s see, there’s Jesus, and well,
that’s about it. Unfortunately for one pastor on the
West Coast of Africa, his attempt to become the
second man to make this impossible feat a reality
cost him his life.
Pastor Franck Kabele, 35, told his congregation
that he was capable of reenacting the very
miracles of Jesus Christ. He decided to make it
clear through way of demonstration on Gabon’s
beach in the capital city of Libreville.
Referencing Matthew 14:22-33, Kabele said that he
received a revelation which told him that with
enough faith he could achieve what Jesus was
able to.
According to an eyewitness, Kabele took his
congregation out to the beach. He told them that
he would cross the Kombo estuary by foot, which
is normally a 20 minute boat ride.
Sadly by the second step into the water Kabele
found himself completely submerged. He never
returned.
This is not the first incident of this nature in Africa.
At Ibadon zoo in south-west Nigeria, a self-
proclaimed Prophet claimed to be able to do what
the Daniel of the bible did by walking into a den
full of lions.
Though he was warned numerous times by zoo
keepers, according to NG Newspapers , the Prophet
thought of them as nothing more than enemies of
progress. The Prophet, with a crowd of people
watching, put on a long red robe and proceeded to
enter the cage full of lions.
Within seconds of opening the door, the lions
ripped the Prophet from flesh to bone. The bible
should come with a warning label, “Don’t try this
at home.”

destroying equipment being st up for the
exercise.
The armed youths, according to the APC
Chairman in Okrika, Mr. Christian Asifamaka,
shot sporadically at about 3.45am at the venue
of the party’s governorship campaign.
Asifamaka said in a statement that the

governorship rally National School Field Okrika.
“Those setting up the sound system and the
podium were forced to flee for their lives.
“At about 4am, they started shooting explosives
into the arena and destroyed the podium, sound
equipment and some canopies. The boys came in
a white Hiace bus and allegedly came in from
Igbiri, a community that shares borders with
Mrs. Jonathan’s Oba Ama community.”
The governorship rally of the Peoples Democratic
Party at the same venue on Thursday.
Rivers State Commissioner for Information and
Communication, Mrs. Ibim Semenitari, said more
youths had invaded the venue of the APC
governorship rally for the second time and
continued with the destruction of equipment
mounted at the place for the exercise,
unchallenged.
Semenitari explained that policemen, who were
with Armoured Personnel Carrier drove off,
adding that APC supporters were currently under
siege in Okrika.
“Some more boys came and started destroying
things at the venue in Okrika again. The police,
who were coming with APC (Armoured Personnel
Carrier), drove off. We are without any security

At one time in my life, I believed that my success
was based on the amount of money I made, how
good I was at my job, and how many people liked
me. The older I got the more I realized that
success for me was actually based around how
happy I felt.
I did spend many years caught up in the whirlwind
of defining my success by comparing it to how
other "successful people" lived their lives. I wasted
a lot of energy chasing other peoples' definition of
success.
I never really truly believed I was successful. Many
times I felt I was a failure because I believed I was
not achieving the levels of success that I perceived
people around me were. On the outside I am sure
that people considered me to be a success but I
never was that happy with myself. I always felt that
something was missing and that there was more
to life for me.

10 mistakes young job seekers make

Young job seekers need to get over their sense of
entitlement.
There was the young job seeker who showed up at
his interview 15 minutes late, failed to apologize,
and thenasked if the interviewer had a garbage can
so he couldthrow away his gum. There was also
the 20-somethingapplicant whose call to the hiring
manager went dead in the middle of the
conversation. The young woman

didn't call back
for two hours, only to explain, without apology,
that she had dropped her phone in a tub of water
while she was getting a manicure. Then there was
the mother who called her son's boss when he
wasn't hired at the end of his internship, and
demanded to know why.

Facebook password tricks: 3 passwords that you can use to access your Facebook account.

You can access your Facebook account with 3
different passwords . I was surporised when i read
this message posted by one of my friend in
Facebook. So , immediately, i tested whether it is
true one or not. Yes, it is working.
Facebook allows the following variation of your
passwords:
1. Your Original Password:
Let us assume that you are using
"breakTheSecurity" as password. Yeah, you can
log in with your default password
2. Your original password with the case reversed
(Toggle case):
This one will be interesting one. You can toggle
the case of your Password and use it.
For instance, your are using "breakTheSecurity" as
your default password. In this password, 'T' and 'S'
is Capitalized.
if you toggle the password case, then your
password will become "BREAKtHEsECURITY".
3. Your original password with the first letter
capitalized:
If the first character of your password is in lower
case and you change it to Upper case, you can still
login with this one.
For instance, the original password is
"breakTheSecurity" . In this password, the first
character 'b' is in lower case. If you capitalize the
first character, then your password is
"BreakTheSecurity".
The reason for 3 Passswords for your facebook
account
It is not security flaw. It is just feature provided by
Facebook.
"We accept three forms of the user's password to
help overcome the most common reasons that
authentic logins are rejected. In addition to the
original password" Zdnet quotedas Facebook
spokesperson saying. " we also accept the
password if a userinadvertently has caps lock
enabledor theirmobile device automatically
capitalizes the first character of the password."
Three different Usernames:
1. You can use your Facebook 'Username' as user
name(if you have created)
2. You can use your email address
3. You can use use your mobile number ( if you
have added your mobile number in Fb).
